Today we bring you a topic which we hope you'll love learning about it as much as we do! It is at the core of everything we do. And our hope is that at the end of this message, you may also feel that it brings clarity to your life, and you'll feel empowered to live your life in a way that can improve your health.
As you know, we practice Energy Medicine. But what is that? What kind of energy are we talking about? That's exactly what we're going to talk about here - this may be the email you've been waiting for!
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, they describe three types of Life Force energy: Qi, Jing and Shen. When you go to an Acupuncturist, or someone who knows about the Five Elements of Oriental Medicine, they will refer to these three energies. Each one is separate and at the same time they all relate to each other:
Qi (Chi):
This is our vital energy, that we use up in our daily life, as we move, we exercise, we are under stress, etc. We have direct access to it, and it can get depleted. But, we can replenish it as we can manufacture it, we can cultivate it. We draw it from our food we intake, proper rest, Qi-conscious sex, and the quality of our breath. This is why the quality of our food is important, so that we are eating to replenish our Qi, not just to satisfy our hunger. And this is also why Qigong is an important practice to build up our Qi reservoir, as well as breathwork.
Jing:
This is your inherited potential, inherited energy, genetic Life Force. It can also get used up, once the Qi has been depleted. However, this one cannot be replenished. We only get a limited amount of Jing. That's why the energy that we have direct access to is Qi, to protect our Jing. And once Qi runs out, we begin to use up our Jing. Once our Jing is done... so are we. This is why it's important to always keep your Qi strong.
Shen:
This is your Spirit, the highest expression of yourself. It is seen in the light of your eyes, in the glow of your skin, your radiance. If you have ever seen someone who's glowing, maybe because they're in love, or they just landed their dream job, they have in that moment allowed their Shen to come into their body. The more we alchemize our hardships into blessings through healing, the more we'll connect with our Shen, and the more we will develop what the Ancient Chinese called Peach Luck, which means we have a lot of Shen, living our Golden Path. It's more than "good luck", it's living our highest destiny, who we were born to be. And people become magnetized towards that authenticity.
How We Work:
In our practice, our work is related to all three energies. Our primary focus is on rebuilding your Qi reservoir. We do this through Qigong, and Breathwork. Qi is the light and loving energy with which we Illuminate your Chakras. And Qi is the "ki" in Reiki, which is also about replenishing your Chakras with Ki (Qi).
As we mentioned before, when we're under stress our Qi wears out. Stress is primarily caused by the stories we live our lives from, our limiting beliefs, our wounds. Our Shamanic Energy Medicine services aim at clearing all that junk, so your Qi does not wear out as quickly. It's like closing all the open apps in your phone, so your battery lasts longer. So we don't just build up your Qi, but we also make sure it can stay strong, in order to protect your Jing.
And each time we clear those stories, and heal those wounds, it gives you an opportunity to allow your Shen to come into your body. The more you release, the stronger you Qi, and the more often you'll connect with your Shen, so that you can develop Peach Luck. It's not uncommon for our clients to hear from their peers "You are glowing! What are you doing?" and they respond with "I go to Ayni Holistic Healing".
What You Can Do:
Now that you know what type of energies are in your body, here's how you can implement this information into your daily life:
1. Eat fresh, organic foods. Preferably directly from the farm. The fresher the better. When we eat we are taking in the life force of that plant or animal. So would you rather eat something that's been stored for a while, or something that has just been harvested? And, of course food products that contain ingredients that are hard to read, are less likely to provide any Qi at all.
2. Breathe consciously. You can breathe to survive, or you can breathe to energize. The air we intake also has Qi in it (smoking does not), it fills out lungs and travels to every part of our bodies. If we take shallow breaths, there's small amounts of air, therefore not enough Qi. If we breathe deeply, hold our breath for a few seconds, then exhale slowly, there's a lot of Qi that builds up! Try it now (make sure you're sitting!).
3. Rest Properly. Nobody can tell you how long to sleep. We have worked with thousands of people and everyone has different needs. As long as it replenishes your Qi. However, it's best to go to sleep around 9:00pm or 10:00pm, because of the organs that require energy at night, during sleep. And if you have a busy schedule and you're always "on the go", remember to schedule down time.
These three practices can help you maintain a good level of Qi in your body. If you feel you need a boost, you can always schedule a Reiki session, or come to our Qigong or Breathwork classes on Saturdays. And if you want to eliminate the emotional baggage you're carrying which is draining your Qi, schedule a Shamanic Energy Medicine session. The best part: all of these can be done in-person or remotely!
